The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of our school functions effectively through two separate units—Aided and Self-financing—together enrolling approximately 100 volunteers every year.

The unit functions under the guidance of our Principal, Dr. Jacob John, who has served for many years as the NSS State Coordinator, with the dedicated leadership of Programme Officers Ms. Bindu Susan Varghese and Ms. Tissa Varghese. Under their guidance, the NSS volunteers actively participate in meaningful service initiatives and community-oriented programmes.

From the beginning of the academic year, the NSS Unit has been engaged in a wide range of activities. During the previous academic year, the volunteers organized a Film Fest and Food Fest to raise funds for the renovation of the house of a deserving student of the school. The required amount was successfully collected and handed over for the renovation work. In addition, all 100 NSS volunteers contributed one full day of physical labour in support of the construction activities, demonstrating their commitment to community service.

During the current academic year, the NSS Unit has continued its active engagement through several socially relevant programmes. In association with Operation Thoofan, the unit organized an anti-drug awareness rally and public meeting under the slogan “Let Sports Replace Addiction.”

An Eye Care Camp was conducted for students and teachers in collaboration with Lawrence & Mayo Opticals. The unit also organized programmes commemorating International Yoga Day, Reading Day, and Hiroshima Day, along with the “Clean School Campus, Clean Future” awareness campaign under the Swachhata Pakhwada initiative.

One of the most significant initiatives of the academic year was a Blood Donation Camp conducted in association with Caritas Hospital. Around 60 people registered for the programme, and 48 donors successfully donated blood, making the initiative a meaningful contribution to the community.

The enthusiasm, dedication, discipline, and selfless service of the NSS volunteers continue to strengthen the unit and add significant value to the school's community-service initiatives. Through their active participation, the volunteers embody the spirit of “Not Me but You” and demonstrate the importance of service to society.
